9/10/2004 Overview in Workers Compensation at M-TEC  
    The fee for "Workers Compensation -- A Practitioner's Guide" is $195. It will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The instructor is David J. Gregory of Strategic Aligned Solutions that is based in Tekonsha. He has also taught a variety of core-subject courses at Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business. Among the topics will be the statutory regulations spelled out in the Workers Disability Compensation Act, its applications to the workplace, types of insurance programs, the coverage of illnesses and injuries, the range of benefits, reporting procedures, claims handling, return-to-work practices, court proceedings and settlements, case management, and ethics considerations. The seminar's objective will be for participants to develop and administer an effective workers-compensation program that fosters positive employee relations while providing an emphasis on cost containment. The seminar is designed for human-resources professionals and those who administer workers-compensation programs for enterprises.
