Energy Summit 2004 offers businesses solutions for reducing energy consumption
Innovative solutions for reducing energy consumption, energy costs and environmental impact will be presented at Energy Summit 2004 on Monday, June 21, at KVCC’s Michigan Technical Education Center.
The free, daylong event is sponsored by Flowserve Inc., Armstrong International, Consumers Energy and Southwest Michigan First.
Forum attendees will learn from case studies presented by industry-leading experts who will demonstrate how a planned approach to energy consumption can dramatically reduce the cost a business pays for energy. Opportunities for state and government funding also will be discussed.
According to Bill Adams, director of new business development for Flowserve, his company teamed with Armstrong, Consumers Energy and Southwest Michigan First to offer this event because it will enable their customers to reduce production costs and improve process efficiencies.
Energy costs are a growing concern for many businesses. For manufacturing companies that rely on powered equipment to run their processes, energy consumption is a significant cost of doing business, Adams said.
For many companies, energy conservation and efficiency is a strategic objective for that plant’s operations team.”
Speakers at the conference will include: keynoter Neal Elliot, industrial program director for the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy; Marc Hoffman, director of the Consortium for Energy Efficiency ; and other energy specialists from around the United States.
Six case studies from regional companies will be discussed, as will opportunities for financial assistance from the state and federal governments.
Process engineers and managers of businesses with pumps, valves, electric motors, steam systems, fans and blowers within the manufacturing process will benefit from this event.
Space is limited and registration is required. The deadline for registration is noon, June 18, by calling either (269) 553-9588 or (877) 553.9588 (toll free). Additional information also is available at www.southwestmichiganfirst.com.
