    EMU center, M TEC forge partnership The Great Lakes Regional OSHA Training Institute and Education Center, which is affiliated with Eastern Michigan University, has established a training partnership with the KVCC M TEC. The partnership brings the OSHA sponsored training programs to Southwest Michigan for the first time. Beginning in 1985, the EMU Center for Organizational Risk Reduction began providing hands on training in hazardous materials management and occupational health and safety to more than 100,000 workers in 500 industrial and service facilities located in 11 countries. The EMU center eventually entered into a partnership with several unions to form the OSHA Training Institute, becoming one of 12 such regional centers in the United States. Nationally known for innovation, it conducts customized on site training and provides technical assistance, consultation, auditing, evaluation and compliance reviews in more than 35 different health and safety areas. It will also design and develop training materials, including videos, to fit a company's specific needs.
